Fundraising
Events: Two major fundraisers are presented every year: Holiday Luncheon & Boutique on the first Sunday in December; and, the Spring Fundraiser in mid to late March. Silent and live auctions, direct donations, and opportunity drawings are the foundation of fundraising at these events. Event Sponsors: Individuals and corporations are invited to underwrite portions of our events. Benefits are commensurate with Corporate Sponsorship levels. Corporate Sponsorship: Major Donors ($1000+) and Generous Hearts ($1-$999) collectively make up our Corporate Sponsorship program. Individuals and corporations are invited to pledge donations of any amount throughout the year. Direct Donations: Individuals and corporations may choose to earmark their donations directly to one of the philanthropies we support. A Corporate Sponsorship form is used to make the donation with a special notation indicated.
Auction and In-Kind Donations: Merchants and service-based companies may donate merchandise, gift certificates, or in-kind gifts to support our fundraising efforts.

The Scot Sipes Award is presented each year to the highest ranking scholarship recipient. The award is gifted by Judy and Sherrill Sipes in loving memory of their son Scot who was a student at Rolling Hills High School. Judy Sipes is a former member of PV Juniors. Judy and Sherrill Sipes have generously contributed this award since 1986. Scot’s sister, Stacy Sipes, has contributed to this award since 2004.
The Kelli Piken Award is presented to the scholarship recipient pursuing higher education in the Arts. The award is gifted by husband, Dr. Edward Piken, in honor of Kelli for her lifelong appreciation of the Arts and continued commitment to the Palos Verdes Junior Women’s Club. Kelli has been a member since 1996. The Pikens have generously contributed this award since 2006.
Heartprints
Founded by member Erin Harper in 2006, Heartprints offers our children the opportunity to help children-in-need through hands-on projects. Some of these projects have included serving meals to children at the Toberman House, San Pedro; stuffing and decorating teddy bears to benefit children rescued by the Lomita Sheriff’s Department; and decorating and filling Christmas bags with hygiene products for kids at the Ronald McDonald House, Los Angeles. Mission statement: “Our Children Leaving Heartprints Throughout the South Bay and Beyond”
Philanthropy Drives
PV Juniors hosts several member-sponsored donation drives each year benefiting the philanthropies that we support. Some drives have included collecting new hygiene products, newborn baby supplies, school and art supplies, backpacks, toys and books, frames, birthday party baskets, and gently used business attire and shoes.
Outreach Programs
Our membership is encouraged to support auxiliary projects that benefit charities not included in our Philanthropy Disbursement Program. Some include Meals-on-Wheels since 2000, Adopt-a-Family, Hurricane Katrina victims, and those listed under Heartprints.
Social
Another great part of our mission is to foster lifelong friendships. Various formal and casual social events are planned for our members throughout the year – some for members only, some include our significant others, and some include our children.
